Choose the Right Pad:

Purchase a high-quality, thick pad that is less likely to tear.

Consider using a pad with sticky edges or a fixing device that helps secure the pad to the ground, reducing the chance of your pet biting it.

Pet Training:

Using positive reinforcement including awards using small food snacks, train and reinforce that your pet is using the pad correctly and not bit them.

The moment the pet begins to gnaw the pad, say "no" in a firm voice immediately and direct it to do something different like playing with the toys or going for a walk.

Supervise and Redirect:

If you can - try to supervise your pet during the periods it might be inclined to chomp on the pad.

When you see your pet approaching the pad with the intent to bite, stop it in time with a sound or action, and redirect it.

Redirect with Other Toys:

Give your pet plenty of chew toys and other types of amusement to divert it from the pad.

Select only safe, non-toxic toys, that are appropriate for their age and size.

Move the Position of the Pad:

If your pet is biting the pad in a certain place often, try moving it to a location where your pet has less access to, or has a harder time moving to.

Ensure the pad is placed somewhere your pet can easily see and reach to encourage proper use.

Consider Using Other Types of Pads or Alternatives:

If disposable pads are too tempting for your pet, consider using reusable pads or diapers.

These options are often more durable and environmentally friendly.

Seek Professional Help:

If none of the above methods are effective, consider consulting a professional pet behaviorist or veterinarian.

They can offer more specific advice or training plans to help your pet overcome the habit of biting pads.
