4 typical symptoms of wet wipes allergy
If the following conditions occur after using wet wipes, be alert to allergic reactions:
Immediate tingling sensation: burning or tingling sensation within 30 seconds after contact with the skin;
Local redness: erythema with clear boundaries appears in the wiped area, which may be accompanied by swelling;
Dense small rashes: needle-sized raised particulates appear on the skin surface, and are common at the folds of infants' elbows, necks, etc.;
Continuous itching: the itching does not cease within 2 hours after cleaning, and scratching aggravates the symptoms.
⚠️If you are experiencing systemic reactions such as difficulty breathing and swollen eyelids, please see a doctor immediately!
What ingredients may cause allergies?
Pay special attention to these substances in the wet wipes formula:
Preservatives: MIT (methylisothiazolinone), phenoxyethanol, etc.;
Fragrance: artificial synthetic fragrance (products are marked with "Fragrance" or "Fragrance");
Alcohol: some wet wipes marked with "antibacterial type" contain ethanol;
Emulsifier: foaming ingredients such as cocamidopropyl betaine.

Three-step self-test method: quickly determine whether you are allergic
First use: cut a 1cm² wet wipe, stick it on the inside of the wrist or behind the ear, and observe for 24 hours;
Batch verification: If a rash appears, switch to a fragrance-free/alcohol-free model to repeat the test;
Cross-comparison: Test different brands at the same time to lock in allergens.
✅ Merchants recommend: Infants and people with sensitive skin should give priority to products marked with "no additives" or "ISO anti-allergy certification".
How to deal with allergies correctly?
Stop using immediately: rinse the contact area with clean water for at least 3 minutes;
Physical cooling: wrap a refrigerated bottle of purified water with a thin towel and apply it to the red and swollen area for 10 minutes;
Soothing and repairing: apply a repair cream containing zinc oxide or aloe vera, and avoid using hormone ointments;
Record information: keep the outer packaging of the wet wipes, take photos to record the allergic symptoms, and facilitate subsequent tracing.
